1. Agreement
By using Final Grade Calculator (the “site”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. These terms apply to every page, including the calculators and the guides.
2. What the site is
The site is a free set of arithmetic tools for estimating course grades, semester grades, and grade point averages, together with explanatory articles. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any school, college, university, examination board, or learning management system.
3. What the site is not
It is not academic advice, and it is not a statement of your official grade. Your official grade is the one your instructor and registrar record, calculated under your institution’s policies. Where the two differ, your institution is correct and this site is not.
Course policies routinely change the arithmetic in ways no general calculator can know about — minimum scores required on a final exam, dropped lowest scores, exams that replace a lower midterm, exemptions, curves, and rounding rules. You are responsible for reading your syllabus and confirming that the model used here matches your class.
4. Accuracy
The formulas are documented on each calculator page and covered by automated tests, and we work to keep them correct. Even so, the site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
If you find a result you believe is wrong, please report it — see the contact page for what to include.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Final Grade Calculator and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of academic standing, opportunity, scholarship, or grade, arising out of or connected with your use of the site or reliance on any number it produces. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case the exclusions above apply only to the extent permitted.
Decisions about how to study, which exams to prioritise, and whether to withdraw from or change the grading basis of a course are yours. Make them with your syllabus and your academic advisor, not with a calculator alone.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Interfere with or disrupt the site, its servers, or its networks
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or related systems
- Use automated systems to scrape the site in a way that imposes an unreasonable load
- Reproduce substantial portions of the written content without permission or attribution
- Frame or mirror the site in a way that misrepresents its origin
7. Intellectual property
The text, layout, design, and code of this site are owned by its operators and protected by copyright. You may read, print, and share pages for personal, non-commercial study use, and you may quote short excerpts with a link back. Republishing whole articles or the calculators without permission is not permitted.
8. Advertising and third-party links
The site carries third-party advertising and may link to external sites. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, products, or practices of any third party, including advertisers. Third-party data practices are covered by their own policies; ours is set out in the privacy policy.
9. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site at any time without notice, including calculators and articles. We may also update these terms; the revision date at the top of this page reflects the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which the site’s operators reside, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing here removes any consumer right you have under the mandatory law of your own country of residence.
